Treatment approaches:

These may include:

• Visual search training to help patients change the way they look around, for example scanning activities
• Reading may be improved by putting a line at the edge of the page to cue a patient to return to that point and using a straight edge such as a ruler to direct the eyes to the target line of text
• Orthoptics, for example the use of prism lenses to shift parts of the blind visual field into the seeing field
