Speech apraxia

• Difficulty putting sounds or oral muscles into the correct sequence

• Difficulties in voluntary production or copying of:
  • single sounds or strings of sounds
  • multisyllabic words
  • oral movements

• Patients often appear to be ‘groping’ for sounds or words

• Individuals may have automatic or involuntary words or phrases
