Other factors that may contribute to incontinence problems are:
- Weakness or loss of sensation in a person's arm or leg may make it difficult for them to get to the toilet or use a bottle
- Unable to recognise and act on biomechanical triggers of elimination (bladder/bowel)
- Environmental factors (e.g. location and accessibility of toilet facilities)
- Some medications
- Urinary tract infections
- Weakness in the pelvic floor
