Incontinence |
Bowel and bladder impairment
- About half of people admitted to hospital with a stroke will have lost control of their bladder, and a third will experience loss of bowel control. This is called incontinence.
- The frontal lobe is generally thought to be involved in bladder control. People who have a stroke that affects this part of the brain may be affected by incontinence.
Further information and training about incontinence after stroke can also be found on the STARS website.
