Sensation |
Sensory loss after stroke is a recognised impairment.
Sensation is the ability to identify temperature, pain, touch and knowing where joints, or body parts are (called proprioception).
"Impaired sensation does limit ability, for example use of the upper limb. Sensory retraining can be passive, i.e. using electrical stimulation, or active which incorporates repeated exposure to varying stimuli, for example texture, temperature, joint position sense or shape".
