Cognitive and communication problems after stroke affect over a third of stroke patients. Such problems can have a negative impact on independence, confidence, social relationshipos and mood.

It is important to know how to communicate with patients and how to develop and undertake strategies to assist them. This will contribute towards improving the quality of life of patients by maximising their independence and enabling them to undertake tasks and activities safely.
