- Apraxia is a disorder of motor planning
- It is the loss of the ability to carry out or execute tasks that the patient was able to do so previously
- Even though patients understand a given task and want to perform that task, they are unable to do so
- It is not due to weakness, loss of co-ordination, loss of sensation or incomprehension
