Falls

 

What if the patient falls?

• Stay calm
• Check for any injuries or wounds
• Call for help (personal alarm or an ambulance if necessary)
• The patient should not be lifted, if they are unable to ‘get themselves up’ an ambulance should be called
• If the patient has had a number of falls they may need to be referred for medical investigations, such as a review of medication
